For an international player in the defense industry we are currently looking for a Group Finance Manager (m/f/x). As Finance Manager on group level you will be responsible for overseeing the financial operations of the company and providing strategic financial insights to the management team as well as perform the accounting and closing of the holding entity. More in details you are responsible for the following:

Daily/Monthly management

• Planning of month-end closing activities in consultation with Head of Group Control and Consolidation
• Organize and set timetables for the monthly close activities
• Support Head of Group Control and Consolidation in preparing the monthly close and reporting instruction
• Review and perform validation of the monthly reporting submitted (by local units) to ensure quality of reporting
• Ensure timely, adequate and reliable monthly financial closing process including management of all relevant central consolidation and elimination adjustments
• Support Head of Group Control and Consolidation being the focal point for internal/external auditors for the financial consolidation processes
• Provide feedback to Accounting and Reporting employees at local reporting entities on quality delivered during month-end closing process
• Provide insights via KPI's and reports on operational metrics and cash positions

Tax

• Manage tax compliance deadlines, tax payments and information flows
• Deal with tax accounting matters, ensuring compliance with local legislations, supported by external consultants
• Review/prepare tax returns and tax computation

Control & Governance

• Interpretation of new/changing IFRS standards and translation into practical impact and adjustment of processes.
• Support Head of Group Control and Consolidation with a proper set-up and functioning of administrative organization and internal controls; including self-assurance, control incident reporting, execution of controls, and independent testing (internal audits, external audits).
• Support in ensuring adherence to internal and external relevant regulations and pro-actively prepare the organization for regulatory changes.

Accounting and Reporting

• Responsible for the holding accounting (PL, BS, invoice recording)
• Run payment proposal on a timely basis
• Ensure and drive timely, adequate and reliable monthly financial closing process
• Ensure quality, effectiveness and efficiency of financial reporting ('one version of the truth') to management
• Support Head of Control and Consolidation with correct consolidation and reporting of monthly financial numbers
• Support Head of Control and Consolidation with correct consolidation of budget and forecast numbers
• Ensure full compliance with IFRS and alignment with both the accounting department and the external auditor Track developments and implement new IFRS standards

Continuous improvement

• Improve and streamline accounting processes; drive further integration of activities
• Identifying and implementing improvements to financial, accounting and administrative processes, improving accuracy, and ensuring scalability

Job requirements

Skills and experience

• 5-10 years of relevant experience in control / accounting
• Master degree in finance/business economics and/or accounting
• Excellent knowledge on IFRS accounting matters, especially for financial instruments
• Experience in building and maintaining multi-functional networks
• Proven project and change management skills
• Analytical and mathematical skills
• Fluent in the use of both oral and written English. Dutch is a nice to have
