Job Description

Still I Rise, an international NGO, works on the development and implementation of humanitarian projects aimed at the education and support of refugee children and vulnerable youth, is looking for a Head of Impact to join its current staff.

The Head of Impact is a pivotal role within our organization, tasked with ensuring the

quality and efficiency of our educational programs for vulnerable children in regions afflicted by severe humanitarian crises. This role carries a dual responsibility: overseeing all aspects of project implementation, including administrative functions related to HR, finance, and logistics, and analyzing and maximizing our impact both qualitatively and quantitatively.

Key Responsibilities

Program Oversight : Oversee budgeting and expenditures to ensure efficient allocation of resources. Manage and support the Heads of Academies and Heads of Schools in achieving program objectives in collaboration with the education department. Ensure the successful implementation of donor projects within the programs.

Quality Assurance : Conduct comprehensive Quality Assurance reports on all program aspects, including education and non-education matters. Monitor adherence to procedures and standards across all programs.

Impact Analysis : Monitor and evaluate the impact of our programs from both educational and broader societal perspectives. Develop strategies to maximize impact within resource constraints.

Reporting : Oversee the production of impact reports to be distributed internally, providing insights into our effectiveness. Ensure routine and consistent collection and dissemination of quantitative and qualitative data within the organization.

Cross-Department Collaboration : Collaborate with fundraising and other departments to provide analytical, quantified data and qualitative observations on our impact to support funding efforts and organizational decision-making.

Team Management:

Provide leadership and guidance to the Impact team, fostering a culture of accountability, innovation, and excellence. Support professional development and performance management of team members.

Stakeholder Engagement:

Build and maintain effective relationships with stakeholders including donors, partners, and government agencies, representing the organization professionally.

Continuous Improvement:

Identify opportunities for program enhancement and efficiency gains through regular review and feedback mechanisms. Stay abreast of best practices and emerging trends in impact assessment and program management, integrating learning into our practices.

Essential Skills & Requirements

Experience in Program Management: Proven track record of managing complex humanitarian projects, including budgeting, resource allocation, and donor project management.

Leadership Skills: Strong leadership abilities with experience in managing and motivating multidisciplinary teams to achieve program objectives.

Analytical Skills: Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to interpret data, evaluate program effectiveness, and identify areas for improvement.

Quality Assurance Expertise: Experience in developing and implementing quality assurance mechanisms to ensure adherence to standards and procedures across all program aspects.

Impact Assessment: Demonstrated ability to monitor and evaluate program impact from both educational and broader societal perspectives, with a focus on maximizing impact within resource constraints.

Reporting Skills: Proficiency in producing comprehensive impact reports and disseminating insights internally to support organizational decision-making and external funding efforts.

Full working proficiency in English (one other language amongst italian, french, spanish and arabic are considered an advantage)

Cross-Department Collaboration: Experience collaborating with fundraising and other departments to provide analytical data and qualitative observations to support organizational goals.

Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to build and maintain effective relationships with donors, partners, government agencies, and other stakeholders.

Commitment to continuous improvement, with the ability to identify opportunities for program enhancement and efficiency gains through regular review and feedback mechanisms.

Educational Background: Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field (e.g., International Development, Education, Social Sciences), with a preference for candidates with advanced degrees or certifications related to program management or impact assessment.

Previous experience working in humanitarian contexts, particularly in regions affected by severe humanitarian crises, is highly desirable.

Comfortable working remotely and managing virtual teams, with proficiency in remote collaboration tools and communication technologies, IT Tools for M&E, and Microsoft Office package, MS Word report formatting, MS Excel, and MS PowerPoint alongside Google applications such as Gmail, Google Docs, Sheets, and Slides
