About the team

The Buyout team is made up of two pillars:

A teamisdirected at the commercial approach to market The other team isdirected at pricing and structuring.

Both the pillar heads report directly to the Chief Commercial Officer, member of the Athora Executive Committee.

The pricing and structuring team has a close relationship with the commercial team sparring on the commercial approach and opportunities.It is a small team, where you learn a lot fast and have ample opportunity to contribute – also to other areas of the organization where Buyout initiatives may also help other endeavors. Collaboration within and beyond the team is what makes it work. There is always room for constructive dialogue where we challenge each other. That helps our customers and it also helps us grow and learn. The team is highly technical by most standards, but we also know how to have fun and maintain a healthy work-life balance.

What are you going to do

You are reporting to the CCO, who is part of the Athora NL Executive Committee (“ExCo”).You are responsible to define, together with the Specialist Buyout Commerce, the commercial priorities and activities of the PRT business, including:

Definition and delivery of the business plan for pension risk transfer. This includes capabilities, revenues, costs, and capital. Client engagement process and commercial priorities, and management of the relationships with multinational-sponsored pensions. Market positioning of Athora in the PRT business

Collaboration

An essential requirement of the role is the collaboration with other teams within Athora Netherlands, including, but not limited to, the PRT structuring team, P&P, account managers, CMP, IO, 2nd line risk

You own and drive the development and sustained performance of a strong structuring, pricing and risk management framework, process, and execution for PRT transactions:

Structuring activities are run within the PRT team Core pricing models are developed within the Athora NL P&P team, and used by the PRT structuring staff, who develop additional structuring-specific models that leverage pricing analytics. The PRT team defines the specifications needed from the pricing model for the PRT business

You Lead the risk management of the PRT business

Establish and maintain a sound Internal control framework and audit reviews with regular testing and accurate/timely reports Define risk mitigating and transaction optimisation measures (reinsurance, capital structure, hedging) in collaboration with CCIO/Risk/Pricing functions and other subject matter experts

You lead the development of our PRT product / service offering

Lead the adaptation of Athora’s existing PRT products and the development of new PRT products to meet the needs of our customers in close collaboration with the senior specialist Buy Outs Commercial

Team lead (2FTE): Manage the team of PRT structurer(s), quantitative analyst(s)

Take an active part in the deal team Buy Outs:

In collaboration with the Specialist of Buyout Commerce, participate in the engagement with pension clients, their advisers, and stakeholders where appropriate Participate and support Athora Netherlands’ commercial PRT strategy: marketing, branding, thought leadership, and strategic partnerships Help position Athora as the to-go-party for pension solutions across the spectrum of Athora’s offering (buy-out, buy-in, funding, DIP, accumulation products)

What do you bring

• Expert knowledge of liability pricing and modelling, including biometric (e.g. longevity), market, and behavioural parameters acquired in a principal capacity • Expert knowledge of pension / life markets in key markets • Expert deal structuring and reinsurance experience • Strong insurance knowledge and executive experience including regulatory interaction and approval • Strong experience in first line risk management • Strong project and team management experience • Strong knowledge of financial markets, investments and reinsurance • Strong knowledge of Solvency II, insurance liabilities, and insurance capital structure • Strong Network of relationships across the different segments of the pension market in the Netherlands and internationally (where needed for partnerships such as reinsurers) • Fluency in English – written and spoken
