The VP-IA is a critical member of the Chief Legal Officer’s leadership team and will be responsible for the ongoing development and oversight of the system-wide internal audit function. This leader will accomplish their objectives by bringing a systematic, disciplined approach to evaluating and improving the effectiveness of internal controls, risk management, and governance processes under the guidance and direction of the Audit and Compliance Committee of the Board of Directors and with day-to-day accountability to the Chief Legal Officer. The VP-IA will lead efforts to provide independent, objective assurance and consulting services designed to add value by: leading the development and execution of a risk-based audit plan that aligns with the strategic initiatives; knowing the business and associated risks such that they can identify and communicate risks and improvement opportunities; maintain a high level of engagement with key stakeholders, customers and other risk management units, partnering in a solution-oriented manner; and developing a high functioning results-oriented team The preferred candidate will be an experienced audit leader with a successful track record working in-house or consulting for complex hospitals or health systems. The successful individual in this role will have strong values, ethics, and integrity, proven decision-making skills, superb interpersonal and communication skills, and technical management knowledge. They will be viewed as a trusted advisor who is genuine, collaborative, and customer-centric. This position requires a strong, visible leader with high emotional intelligence and the ability to develop relationships at all levels of the organization.
