HSE Officer

Are you the HSE officer who will support our Veghel Campus in further improvement of the HSE Performance? Are you able to translate the Corporate HSE Strategy FY 2025 & 2026 into tangible targets for local management, in combination with local goals and objectives?

In Veghel, the headquarters of Vanderlande Industries BV is located. Approximately 2500 employees are working on our modern Campus. The main activities at the Campus are:

Design and testing of new modules and equipment in our Technology Department and Test Centers

Manufacturing equipment in our factory;

Distribution of equipment to project sites around the world;

Facility management for the entire campus.

What will you be doing? In close cooperation and with full commitment of our managing board, we have defined a clear strategy towards a proactive safety culture. Next to that, our stakeholders on the Veghel Campus have their own objectives too, when it comes to HSE. You will be working in a small team of HSE Professionals to support several stakeholders on site with different goals per department.

The key objectives are to support our stakeholders at the Veghel Campus in HSE management, based on available local risk assessments and department HSE objectives, in line with our Corporate HSE Policy & Strategy and compliant to local legal and other requirements.

The most relevant HSE topics on our Campus are:

Electrical safety;

Machine safety;

Mobile transportation & Warehouse safety;

Environmental management;

Hazardous substances;

Contractor Safety.

Responsibilities

Connect with our local HSE stakeholders within Manufacturing, Physical Distribution, Test Centers and Facility Management

Translate ambitious long-term goals & objectives into smaller feasible work packages

Bring balance in local HSE plans and targets set by Corporate HSE

Track and trace reported incidents, near misses, hazard reports and all improvement actions related to these reports

Perform root cause analysis on accidents and incidents at Veghel Campus

Align with your HSE colleagues on site and on other Vanderlande sites

Support implementation of Corporate HSE Standards

Support Vanderlande’s growth towards a proactive safety culture on the Veghel Campus

What do we ask from you?

A passion for safety, health and the environment

Mastering Dutch language is a must

Middelbaar Veiligheidskunde, Integrale Veiligheidskunde or comparable education in HSE Management

At least 3 years experience in a comparable role, with proven knowledge on subjects like

Electrical safety;

Machine safety;

Mobile transportation & Warehouse safety;

Environmental management, ISO 14001 and/or ISO 50001;

Hazardous substances;

Contractor Safety.

Good communication skills, excellent stakeholder management

Setting of high standards / setting a good example

Ability to analyze information & produce written reports / Computer literate

Assertive / willing to challenge status quo

Flexible and agile

Result driven

About the team We have a small team working closely together with the stakeholders on site. Our approach is risk based and pragmatic. Our local HSE team consists of 1 other HSE professional and you report to the Corporate HSE Director.

This position offers a competitive salary range of € 3116 to € 4800 gross per month (excluding 8% holiday allowance). Through exceeding performance expectations, you even have the possibility to grow outside this scale.
