We are currently hiring a Commissioning Lead to join our Renewable Production team in Rotterdam.

The Commissioning Lead plays a crucial role in ensuring that systems, equipment, or facilities are properly tested, inspected, and ready for operation. The commissioning lead is responsible for developing and executing a comprehensive commissioning plan for the brownfield project portfolio.

The Commissioning Lead reports to the Operations Day Supervisor and works together with Project Management, Operations, Maintenance.

Your role in our team / in creating a sustainable future

The Commissioning Lead is responsible for developing, preparing, leading and executing the pre-commissioning, commissioning execution plans, commissioning startup and handover plans (including the (pre)startup schedule and the mobilisation of personnel and equipment). The Commissioning Lead is supervising functional testing, inspections, and performance evaluations to verify that systems meet design specifications and functional requirements. The lead ensures that commissioning activities are carried out in a safe manner following Neste’s Safety standards, ensures efficiency, and according to established standards and procedures. The Commissioning Lead oversees the preparation of comprehensive reports, including commissioning logs, test procedures, deficiency reports, and final commissioning documentation. These documents serve as valuable references for project stakeholders and regulatory agencies. The Commissioning Lead facilitates training sessions for end-users or facility operators to familiarize them with the operation and maintenance of commissioned systems. The Commissioning Lead ensures that proper handover procedures are followed, including the transfer of relevant documentation, as-built drawings, and maintenance manuals. By providing comprehensive training and support, the commissioning lead helps to ensure the smooth transition from commissioning to operational phase. As the driver of the commissioning process you are able to create an empowering and inspiring work culture with the commissioning team. You motivate the people around you with your optimism to successfully resolve complex challenges.

The ideal candidate for success in this role should possess the following qualifications and attributes:

Operational background (preferable - Bachelor in a Technical discipline) 8+ years Industry experience (oil & gas refinery) 3+ years of experience in commissioning and/or SU/SD You are an enabler and able to build bridges Excellent communicator, written and in verbal communication in English & Dutch.

We appreciate the value of these additional qualifications:

HAZOP/HAZID/LOPA experience Knowledge of health and safety protocols during commissioning and start-up.
