Impact Private Debt and Equity The Impact Private Debt and Equity (IPD&E) department manages seven article 9 funds investing in debt, equity and growth capital instruments along the themes of Financial Inclusion, Energy Transition and Food Transition, in emerging markets and Europe. The funds are managed by a fund management team. The investments for the funds’ portfolios are originated and managed by five investment teams and the KYC team. Currently we are looking for an Associate Fund Manager with a specific focus on our energy transition funds. The Triodos Energy Transition Europe Fund, Triodos Groenfonds and Triodos Emerging Markets Renewable Energy Fund are three of the 7 funds within the Impact Private Debt & Equity (IPD&E) domain of Triodos Investment Management. The Funds are primarily focused on providing equity, mezzanine and senior debt financing for projects and growth equity for companies active in the energy transition in Europe and Emerging markets. As an Associate Fund Manager you will work on the strategic positioning and the development of these uniquely positioned funds together with the lead fund managers. In this broad role you will represent the funds and Triodos IM and work closely together both with sales and the investment management teams to generate impact and solid returns within the prospectus guideline of the fund. Profile How you will make a difference You will support the fund managers in the management of three energy transition funds covering a wide range of tasks and responsibilities, such as: Portfolio construction and maintaining a well-diversified portfolio in line with the strategic asset allocation and impact-risk-return profile of the funds Monitor the financial return of the fund and test it against the long-term return target. You also periodically make a return analysis to test the fund’s results compared to the market Monitor market developments, assess the consequences for the fund and – if necessary – identify an adjustment to the investment policy or the selection criteria of the underlying investments Play a key role in the strategic development of the fund, in collaboration with the Fund Manager, Sales team, Triodos IM management board and other stakeholders Supporting reviews of the fund, considering how to improve the structure and potentially support the launch of new mandates / fund structures Be involved in investor meetings, presentations and due diligences Coordinating with staff departments providing services to the fund, including finance, control, portfolio administration, marketing & communication, legal, tax, risk and compliance This is you You have a strong analytical background and a keen interest in the energy transition. You understand developments in the energy transition beyond traditional wind and solar. You are comfortable working in an international environment. Within a team you are delivering on an agreed timeline through quality assurance, coordination and where necessary a deep dive. You have affinity and personal connection with the mission and values of Triodos Bank as well as the capacity to communicate these and translate them into daily activities. High potential with the ambition to grow into a fund management position within 1-3 years depending on work experience Experience in the Energy Transition Commercial drive, able to build relationships and the ability to present specialist knowledge convincingly. Entrepreneurial drive in growing the funds, coupled with the ability to be a cooperative team player Inquisitive by nature with an eye for new developments in the sector and the ability to convert this into opportunities for the energy transition funds A solution focused attitude, pragmatic and with good business acumen A flexible and “hands on” approach Affinity with the food transition and/or financial inclusion is a plus The position requires: 5 years’ work experience in a fast-paced result driven environment (e.g. consulting, energy industry or finance); Affinity with maintaining and developing investors relations and attracting new investors Expertise and experience in the field of project debt, project equity and/or growth equity Highly organized individual, capable of liaising with multiple stakeholders and managing multiple workstreams in parallel while working to deadlines and managing time effectively University degree with a master’s in finance, Economics, Corporate Finance, accounting degree or equivalent. CFA, or MBA would be an additional advantage Applicants must be residents of the Netherlands Offer
