What you will be doing As a Supplier Development Engineer, you’re in the heart of our dynamic Propulsion newbuilt business. From supplier development perspective, you will be responsible for working with suppliers to improve their performance and capabilities mainly in the areas of quality, delivery, cost, and compliance for our forging & casting and small machining parts.

In this position you will be part of our Global Propulsion Supply Management Organization consisting of 14 other supply management professionals. You will manage the internal process with your stakeholders in order to reach the optimal result of supplier performance (mainly in Europe). You will be reporting to the General Manager Supply Management Propulsion. International Traveling is part of the job.

Due to the international character of this job some international traveling is required.

The preferred location for this position is our office in

Drunen, the Netherlands .

Your work will focus on these responsibilities: Identify Develop and execute Supplier Development actions as planned in co-operation with relevant stakeholders Monitor and analyse supplier performance and give guidance accordingly Take ownership and action on Quality, Delivery and Cost activities utilizing defined supplier development tools (e.g. supplier audit, WPAP, PQAP) Actively participate in the Category action plan creation including decision making of supplier rationalization and change Execute supplier audits and audit follow-up according to supplier audit plan Support suppliers with their operational efficiency / organizational growth / product improvement and development initiative Assess and follow up the suppliers’ quality management systems and Supplier Management System (VMS) rating Point of contact for supplier with an escalated quality, delivery or technical problem Key Components inspection at suppliers for Flexible delivery Center You will shine in this role, when you have: High supplier quality control sense, do right thing first time, and avoid poor quality cost Quality tools skill, including 8D, PDCA, CP, PPAP, PQAP. knowledge of manufacturing process in particular casting, forging and machining. Strong solution-oriented approach, capability to implement and persistency to follow-up activities in order to ensure sustainability and quality Able to work in a distributed team and self-driven approach to learn and produce results Strong interpersonal and communication skills and are capable of interfacing with numerous parties at all levels in a multicultural environment. Good communication and presentation skills. Fluent command in English, both oral and written. Knowledge of SAP as advantages. In addition, as an ideal candidate you have:

: University / Polytechnic Degree in Industrial Engineering or equivalent education. Manufacturing/Technical background & experience. At least 8 years experience as industrial engineer, preferably with experience in Engineering, Manufacturing operations or quality. Can do attitude and result oriented working method. Relevant technical and manufacturing knowledge of forging casting and machining working experience are prefer. Professional expertise within Supply Chain management, Engineering, Manufacturing or Quality. Experience in working with Continuous Improvement Process tools regarding Quality, Delivery and Cost such as Kaizen, 5S, 6 Sigma, considered as a plus. 8+ years experience of mechanical engineering, supplier development and/or quality management. Experience and understanding of Operational Excellence principles and awareness about working with Continuous Improvement Process tools regarding Quality, Delivery and Cost (Kaizen, 5S, 6 Sigma, etc.) Product and process auditing experience, management system auditing experience with ISO 9001, 14001 and 45001 or similar is preferred.
