Vicky: your personal parking assistant

Vicky, your personal parking assistant, offers via an app usage of unused parking spaces at hotels, restaurants and other buildings.

Vicky was created from the parking frustrations of our founders. “We drove to an appointment in the center of Amsterdam on a shiny day, but parking proved impossible. We parked our car two canals away, while dozens of garages seemed empty. Why are those places not available?” The idea for Vicky was born several years ago.

Fast forward to 2024: our team currently consists of 16 people. We have built a smart SaaS platform that combines a unique Parking Management System (PMS) with a marketplace for off-street parking spaces and charging stations. We became the largest parking platform in The Netherlands, and we have expanded to Germany and Belgium through international collaborations. Our aim is to consolidate our current parking network, and start operations in new countries by the end of this year.

We have proven our business model. We are providing a convenient solution for customers to park their cars easily in unused spots in city centers via the Vicky app. We bring owners of unused parking spaces turnover by renting out their spaces, whilst enabling them to increase the efficiency of their own parking operations with our SaaS PMS tool. This results in strong partnerships in which we create significant value for our partners. All lights are green for further growth.

Vacancy Operations & Finance Manager – Business Strategy

Operations are currently managed by our founders, but in anticipation of company’s growth, we are seeking a strong addition to the team to help the founders scale the company, and take Vicky to the next level, in ‘operations’ and eventually become fully responsible as Operations Manager.

In your role as Operations and Finance Manager, your responsibilities will focus on:

The core of our business model is opening up many unused parking spaces in cities for visitors by car, while helping owners increase the efficiency within their unused parking space. Each country has its own challenges with opening up markets, and you will work with the team to address difference in regulations, requirements, mobility, competitors etc.

You are included in developing the business strategy, and instrumental in backing up the feasibility of the designed strategies with your budget. You are in the lead of putting it all together and translating those strategic goals to the concrete goals of the teams, by constantly challenge yourself and us: “Are we on the right track, what can be done better, what are our chances, what threats do we see…”.

Each country has its own nuances. Each owner of parking space(s) may seem the same, but is different if closely looked upon. You identify and group (unique) identifiers to build business cases for each city, country, and size/number of available parking spots at owners.

Our internal systems offer a tremendous amount of data points. What are you able to do with this? Think smart, think big, build the various business cases for different stakeholders.

Finance

Our finance is relatively simple, fully automated, and part of our IT systems. Work with our software engineers to obtain necessary information and ensure accurate reporting.

In cooperation with our external accountant, our bookkeeping is always up to date. Although we do not ask you to become our head of finance, an understanding of finance / business economics is required to stay in control in a weekly, monthly, quarterly, yearly manner as small – but added together large – amounts of money comes in and goes out.

Being an entrepreneurial scale-up, you will face new challenges resulting from changed legislation or opportunities that arise. Whatever the reason, smart thinking and solving the challenge is integral to your role.

Your profile

We believe you will be a good fit if you recognize yourself in most of the following:

• Medior to senior experience in strategy consulting at another startup/scale-up/company/consulting firm.
• Medior experience in finance/business economics in a financial (related) position.
• At least gained a bachelor’s education in finance/business economics or comparable field or via another educational route and e.g. gained experience in an operations role.
• 3 – 7 years of working experience, preferably (some) experience in an operations position.
• Independent thinker/entrepreneurial mindset.
• Strong in analyzing data/information and transforming it into a strategy/plan/way to go.
• Good understanding and mastery of the English language. Although we are a Dutch company, we operate in several countries and more will follow, so we expect English will become our main language at work and sometimes already is.
• Comfortable in giving presentations internally and externally.
• Able to manage various projects simultaneously in cooperation with colleagues, management, and external parties.
• Able to build trust by doing the right thing.
